<article><hdr>Air to air shot of Douglas P-70</hdr><body>
<hi style=afpcap>The Douglas company modified the A-20 design into a dedicated night fighter with the designation P-70 during 1942 with the fitment of a British airborne interception radar. The glazed nose was redesigned to house the radar, while a gun pack of four 20mm cannons was installed beneath the fuselage. The prototype was followed by a further 59 A-20s which were converted to P-70 standard.</hi>
